What are you waiting for? by leighyoung What are you waiting for? by leighyoung
I was bored and lazy so I went through the palettes that came with Illustrator and found the pastels. I thought it would make a fun change to the extra dark and rich colours of some of the other gals. Sometimes it gets rather overwhelming to think of all the possible ways to complete an image. Sometimes it's just plain whelming.

So this makes 6 of them, a pretty good number. I'm tempted to work on the group idea I have, but a part of me wants to wait throughout the summe to see if I make any more of these torso pinups. I'd be annoyed create a finished piece and then end up coming up with a few more ideas to add to it even if it's too late.

I'll see what happens.

this is SO amazing (and awesome!) :) if you don't mind me asking- how do you do the outlines so smoothly and with the different widths?

I use Adobe Illustrator CS3 for everything. It's all about layering objects to give the illusion of an outline.

this reminds me of my character Alanis :D except Ally's hair is a tad longer, darker lipstick, and her eyes are black X3 :+fav:

I love the eyes.

Something's off about her hair but I can't quite place what it is.

I got her hair from this book of horror/exploitation posters we have. I think it was a "girls gone bad" type of movie from the 50's. Blame the era.
